Sustainable Lebanon's community initiative, SNAPP

did you know... Residents control 65-85% of greenhouse gas emissions

Sustainable Lebanon's SNAPP Initiative

We are calling on Lebanon households to join in a coordinated, community effort to become more eco-friendly.

The SNAPP (Sustainable Nature APP) Initiative supports the City’s goal for an 80% reduction in green house gasses (compared to 1990) by 2050, and a 26% reduction by 2025. Given the fact that we as residents control 65-85% of greenhouse gas emissions we have significant influence on achieving this goal.

Our program has been designed to support residents and address common challenges we find when moving to a more sustainable lifestyle. Wherever you are in this process, we are here to help.

Do any of these common obstacles to sustainability sound familiar? (Our Initiative is designed to help you overcome them.)

  • I don’t know where to start

  • I don’t know what to do or where to get guidance

  • I feel our individual efforts are futile (it's such a large problem!)

  • I feel like I'm acting alone

When you sign up to join the SNAPP Initiative, here's what we'll provide:

  • small Teams for collaboration and support

  • local business support

  • engaging others in the community with friendly competitions for local businesses rewards

  • gaining encouragement from friends to try new behaviors

  • paying regular attention to what you are doing that affects the climate

Your Customizable Tool

  • suggests personalized actions you can take

  • provides localized resources on how to implement suggestions

  • it keeps you on track with quick reminders

  • it shows your household's progress

  • it’s quick and easy

You are not alone in this, we'll share data, including:

  • how many households are participating

  • how your Team compares to others

  • overall progress towards our goal of lowering emissions

  • notifications of relevant events and news

Let's work together to create a sustainable community.
